Background
We utilized this website for ideas of different indoor kites and their shapes. It also specifically explains why each shape is beneficial and how the differences make each kite unique while flying. Furthermore, this website gave us a general idea of what our design would look like when we created our prototype.
This link was the first website we stumbled upon when starting our research. It is an engineering based project plan for teachers to give to students K-12. Although the project is simple overall, its principles still apply to this project. It lists some materials that could be used and got our group thinking about other similar materials. This website also allowed us to come to the realization that the kite won’t be as strongly affected by the force of gravity if the kite is low in mass. This meant that we wanted to make the lightest kite possible while still making it functional.
